I am just The Ma'am. This is a good thing as I'd sock him one otherwise.
Apologies not required; I have a lung infection on top of all the other fun and games so I am having to make bath bombs today with a dust mask on (I didn't stop in to say hallo today, Purple, on account I don't think you wanted my lurgy on top of general languishment). But thank the gods for foresight; I made a huge batch of cough sirip and rosehip sirip as well in the fall and so I am dosing myself something chronic and feeling considerably better than I was.
I am making sparkly soap tomorrow, if all goes well. And I have been making bath bombs like a total fiend and I HOPE to get photos of these on the site tomorrow. In the meantime, if someone is craving general bath-bombness or bath milk of some sort, I have an assortment (some with sparkly stuff in!) Just send a PM of what you'd like or be prepared to be bombarded with me bringing a load o' soapy/bathy stuff to the Christmas do.

Am suffering abit with the pain side of things but guess ultimately I could be alot worse so shouldnt complain. I still have so much soapy things so dont currently need any - plus what with xmas, car MOT and cleos death resistant fleas I really really must start sorting out the finances that Ive cocked up recently I think Ill try go all out for the first few months of 2010 and get it all sorted and then see how things are. Hope your shoulder is getting better and your lungs are too

LOL, did you come past? Sorry yesterday was hell, have been in alot of discomfort broken up with pain and work is going very badly right now too. Our oven has been broken since Thursday, still not mended, our area manager is useless and dispite him having a shop by barclays bank, rather than them offering to cooking us some potatoes and baguettes etc they didnt F. all, fully aware that we had no way of cooking anything in our shop - basically just waiting for us to go under because of it. So we have been having to take home bacon, sausages, sausage rolls, cooking bacon, baguettes, flapjack and potatoes to cook so we can actually scrape together enough money to hold the shop together, which means getting up about 6:30 to start cooking baguettes to take to work and friday night I finally finished work at about 10pm Will be having harsh words with my boss on monday as Im pissed off with it, the other shop can go to hell and I want to know what the hell the boss is paying the area manager for! hes probably on £10ph plus, yet doing nothing and were on shit money for working our ass off trying to basically doing his job! Oh and the oven was the only thing to heat our shop - so its freezing in there too now! Rant over - sorry

What you're doing is actually very illegal - unless your kitchens have been certified for making food for the public, your new district manager/owner is looking at heavy fines or even being shut down - and then he'd have to pay you lot for the loss of a job as a result.
My suggestion is you give Trading Standards a little anonymous phone call about your current working standards, and they'll look into it pretty quickly.

Back on topic sort of thing:
I am admitting defeat, darlings; I don't have time for new soap right now, and I'm behind on an order someone placed a few weeks ago as it is. I do want to make a gothly soap for Valentine's Day but that will have to be in January when I've recovered. I'm literally making myself ill getting ready for this weekend and I best pace myself if I can.
Cheers m'dears

plus what with xmas, car MOT and cleos death resistant fleas There's a lot of those death resistant fleas about. Our whole house has been nuked with the extra strength 6 month lasting house spray you can only get from the vet, the puppy has been frontlined to within an inch of his life, and the cats both have flea collars AND spot on (we have to be thorough because of Poppy's flea allergy)... and they're all still scratching. The puppy lasted 2 days after the frontline before he was itching again, and I thought that stuff was supposed to be the best???

You can't take food home to cook, it's against the law! I know your kitchen is spotless but that's not the point, it's still illegal to sell food that's not been prepared in an official kitchen that's inspected and regulated by the food safety people! Your boss needs a giant kick up the arse!

The puppy lasted 2 days after the frontline before he was itching again, and I thought that stuff was supposed to be the best??? The problem is the frontline formula hasn't changed in 50 years and the fleas are now resistant to it. The flea companies are now going to have to scramble to find something that works, test it - and there will be invariable nasty side effects as it's never tested enough - and so on. I suggest diatomaceous earth. Don't breathe it in, but you can rub a bit on the coat of your pets, put it onto your carpet, wash all the bedding, and put some outside too if your cats have a favourite haunt. It cuts open the carapaces of pets and they die from dehydration - the crystals however are pretty harmless to larger animals actually. It's what they cover grain with when they're storing it to keep the weevils out of it. Give it a go.

Frontline - yeah the pet shop has backed up what M said on this when I spoke to them a few days ago, Ive just given Cleo a 4 fleas tablet (alot less hassle than I thought) and shes now itching like hell like it said she would but the fleas are just falling off her dead! And thats within an hour! Very impressed. But Im going to get some of that earth to put under the hedge too Aww poor M! Sounds like that might be the best plan, none of us what soap at the expense of your health! Ive just had to say no to Placebo tix partly because its such a long day and I probably would wipe myself for xmas. Yeah I know on the food front, if it wouldnt cause more hassle for me then I would but our boss will never learn - he tried to get me to refreeze chicken when we had a fridge breakdown! Thinks the modern laws dont apply to him! ( I obviously totally refussed that one!)

So as I said...a quick anonymous call at about this time would be good. Even if the shop closes you'd get redundancy pay if you're worried about that at this point.
Right...doing more work and then into the school tomorrow and sprog is NOT doing well *sigh* Anyway...back to talk o' soap at some point.

Yeah, I have previously done annominous calls but if the shop was shut temporary we would not get paid (rightly or wrongly - if wrongly I could fight it but that would take time and more energy I need), and what with me struggling with bills as it is and having xmas on the go too and the costs of that I really really need to keep the weekly money coming in. I cant take that risk right now

Christmas faires done (and some little bleeder took £5 out of my till *mutter*). I have made contacts through more schools for fairs and things throughout the year, though I'm undecided if I'll do my own school's events any more; the parents are infinitely more interested in the booze raffles than in anything else. Says volumes there I suppose.
I've got gift boxes on the website and reducing the prices for those of you who wait for the verrrrrrryyyyyy last minute to shop. Failing that I'll be having January sales in a huge way to clear out my stock and get ready for spring.
Wewt!

I'm pretty much recovered now, just closed the shops yesterday so I can have a reprieve for the Xmess season. Will worry about the January sales later!
