Well My mask is at a standstill for the last month or so, I will get back to it soon Im sure. Costume is still a piece of paper - Think we should make a start soon Niamh if your up for it? My Mum however has just brought a beautiful grey/blue wedding dress, off the shoulder design with lacy beaded detailing and three roses at the curve of the back. Just needs the train removing and taking up abit and then a choker based collar made to finish the outfit. Im not telling you what she is going as though So then we just have to find her a mask, hopefully not too hard! How is everyone else progressing?

Hey hun, as you can probably tell things are going to be a bit crazy for me but your dress shall be done, we'll have to have a day where we can go and have a coffee and start talking about your budget for it and then bring on the shopping!!
Apart from your's it's looking like I'm going to be stuck for space (I shall explain to you tomorrow hun) so, unless anyone hears word that I've stumbled into the lap of luxury, I probably wont be doing any other dressmaking until the girls and I are housed in a proper house (which is more than likely going to happen April time) but I'm determined to go to the ball myself, even if that means buying my own dress (YUK! Hurts even to type it!)
I spotted some nice little masks today in . . . . . . your fave shop hunny!! ;D Finally taking a leaf out of your book! xXx

How is everyone else progressing? I am very frustrated because I'm dying to start on my costume but probably won't actually do anything till the new year I have a sea of ideas clamouring in my head and slowly driving me insane. Some of them have made it as far as being drawn or written down. Lots of images been saved onto my PC from t'interweb to complicate matters even more. I've sourced some wire for wings, and something else I'm not telling anyone about until I decide to definitely do it. I really need to find somewhere that sells hot glue guns and wire pliers and wire snips because mine are, well, naff.

Im finally continuing my mask painting About time! Problem with painting glitter is you need many layers to build up a solid glitter

My idea is still fairly murky and not set in stone. The mask, if I stick with one theme, is already in my possession, so it's just everything else I need....I really need to start drawing / writing shopping lists, but like A, I probably won't knuckle down until the new year....

I haven't even decided what I'm going as yet - starting to panic just a bit now!! LOL panic not... I'm sure you'll come up with something. Remember it's the feel of the thing that's most important rather than being too worried about what you're meant to be... so just be creative and see what happens

Me, Purple Absinthe and Twisted Kitty had a bit of a discussion about it on Saturday so we've chewed the cud a bit more!
Interestingly, a lot of the girls are going as goddesses from various pantheons.....

*jumping up and down* I now have a pattern and design for my costume, which my lovely dress maker Niamh now has and its now on to locating a nice fabric etc for it. So Im finally into doing the costume! The mask itself is finished barr strengthening it, adding wiring for materials and a handle. And just to scare people its 2 months and 3 days away!

Very nervous now since it's sooo close and I want to have it all here but I have to wait!! But my word I found the most awesome site that did leather masks, it was in the US or Canada (too lazy to check right now) and some of the ones on there were to die for. But they were at least $400 each and that was for the smaller ones... sad really cos there was an utterly perfect one that just screamed Lilith *sigh*
