Its great to hear you have a lot of people who you would like to invite, we rely a great deal on people spreading the word to sell out the event and increase the possibilities of future events. A facebook section for the company is currently being created, as we havent been able to do one until we announced the event properly but thank you for volenteering anyway Once we have the site live everyone who possibily can is very much welcome to pester people and spread the darklight name like a virus (please refrain from creating actual computer viruses though ) One option which is apparently now legal and ok is writing on bank note, so one thing anyone can do is write www.darklightindustries.co.uk on the front of any bank notes they have

Really good choice of theme for the event. Well worth the wait! Thanks - we've been really nervous hoping people will like it. There were so many themes to choose from!

;D YAY starts digging stuff out that she wants to wear and use for a costum idea Already? Yay, must be a good theme idea then. I had nightmares of coming up with something where people basically scratched their heads and went "well what am I supposed to wear for that then?" ~A (who currently has about 4 different versions of what she wants her Lilith costume to look like - I have more ideas than I have bodies - can we just have 4 identical balls please so I can use all of them???)

Am I being dense? What IS the theme for the ball? Is it 'dark fantasy', or what? I am confused!

Am I being dense? What IS the theme for the ball? Is it 'dark fantasy', or what? I am confused! Yeah thats the title of the theme, from that if you start to think good, evil or neutral for your character. Then research for a character in that section, can be Mythology, greek, folk, roman or any other mythology. Can have a religious base from any religion. Its pretty open really, so we might get faeries, imps, sprites, devils, demons, minotors, unicorns, mermaids ect, were hoping for a good varied selection on costumes Hope that helps you abit, if your wanting further guidelines to narrow down your choice, if you choose good, evil or neutral and PM Acquiescence, shes our creative director so would be able to give you a little list of options from that. Good luck with choosing one - I have my blank mask ordered so I cant start making it already as I want to crack on with it

Where they fit on the good/evil spectrum is kind of secondary. Something else that I've been telling people is to try and come up with something that's not necessarily a specific character but just has the same sort of feel as you tend to get with the dark fantasy genre. Good places to start there are the costumes and set design used in the movies... a mine of inspiration. The iconic masked ball scene from Labyrinth being a prime example... So decadent and yet so bizarre ;D

OK, that's quite a broad theme! I will have a good think! Damn, you've beaten me to the Lilith theme! She would have been my first choice! But there are other beings with parallels to her in other cultures and civilizations, so.... I think it's much more fun to celebrate dark characters, baddies have a bit more depth! Oh, the masked ball scene from Labyrinth...as you may know, I'm a bellydancer and I once choreographed a dance to 'As The World Falls Down"...and did my hair like Sarah / Jennifer Connelley! By the way, I can't get my mum's computer to open the Darklight Industries webpage. Is it just the title page with the poem at the moment? I ADORE that poem. You is clever! One suggestion though, I think you should add the venue to the page, because it's the first thing people will want to know before they commit to buying a ticket. People will like the idea of the ball but need more information. I have been writing the web address for the ball on EVERY bank note I have! There are at least 10 in circulation! I'm even choosing to use cash instead of my debit card just to get it out there!

I don't know if I agree with "depth in baddies" there Vermillion, J said I should consider as going as Alice, from Resident Evil, but I just do not have the legs for it (and I'd be far too tempted to start doing high kicks and flipping over and beating the poop out of all those dressed as "baddies" ;D ), and also there was a thought for Mina Harker, but not enough detail for people to recognise, methinks! Much consideration to be done! xXx
